I am a self-motivated and creative individual with a passion for web design and development. I was previously employed as an in‐house digital designer within an ecommerce environment, which helped me develop a good aesthetic eye for detail and sense of satisfaction from finding the best solution to a problem.
I am always looking for the opportunity to acquire new skills and improve my abilities. I like to stay up‐to‐date with new technologies and developments by completing online courses, most recently through a Treehouse subscription.
Employed by the Book People, a discount bookseller with an ecommerce store. My responsibilities included:
Providing web page and email designs to the marketing and merchandising departments as briefed. This required a high attention to detail to produce the highest standard of work within a deadline.
Ensuring that all elements of my designs, including typography, composition and colour, delivered the best visual representation of each product, promotional offer and marketing message.
Maintaining consistency throughout creative assets based on brand guidelines.
Assisting with the daily maintenance of the company’s ecommerce website. This included updating promotional and creative assets, such as banners and bespoke web pages created to promote specific products, competitions and events.
Developing and maintaining the HTML of marketing email templates. This involved integrating live content provided by RichRelevance and KickDynamic, so that the most recent personalised product recommendations and promotional offers were displayed when an email was viewed.
Being proactive to ensure that my knowledge of markup and scripting languages continued to be up-to-date with the latest best practices.
Managing and mentoring junior members of the design team as the Lead Digital Designer, and liaising with other designers in the delivery of larger rebranding projects.

I enjoy spending my free time socialising, playing board games, going to the cinema, reading science fiction, and keeping fit by hiking, swimming and cycling. My interests include photography, coding and making Lego brick films.
