I developed The Book People’s marketing and transactional email templates. I had to be proactive to keep ahead of current email marketing trends.
As the use of mobile devices increased, I focused on the user experience and interface on smaller screens. I produced a responsive email template made up of fluid components that could stack.
I used Litmus to ensure all emails looked and performed well across a wide range of email clients and screen sizes.
To improve workflow, I designed the template to be modular so that it could be reset in any configuration.
The result was a framework that provided both creative flexibility and time‐saving efficiency.
With hundreds of thousands of books available onsite, it was a big challenge to only recommend the most relevant books to each recipient. I used segmented dynamic content to show the most relevant books to the right audience.
To decrease production time, I used Kick Dynamic’s content automation platform to merchandise the emails. Personalised recommendations were added at the point a recipient opened a bulletin. As stock levels updated in real‐time, only books available to buy featured in each email.
I also used Kick Dynamic to embed countdown timers, interactive audience polls and blog articles.
